4.4.1 USE OF THE MACHINE ON SLOPES
Proceeding on slopes, go forward or backward at
slow speed.
Do not exceed ascents/descents above 30%, with
the ALIEN 6.5 and up/down more than 15% with the
ALIEN 5.0; do not go for long stretches on steep side
slopes; please note that the maximum slope side on
which you can operate depends on the height of the
load: if the load does not exceed the height of the
box/dumper sides, the side slope on which you can
operate safely is equal to 20%; in any case, limit the
load taking care that it is well distributed in the box
and tied so as to prevent shifting.
Avoid sudden changes in slope; this can cause the
overturning of the vehicle itself.
Take extra care in overcoming obstacles on slopes as
the center of gravity moves from side to side from
the obstacle and can create bumps in the mean, thus
compromising its balance.
To overcome safely for up/down up to 30% with the
ALIEN 5.0 are provided, on request, special valves
to be requested when ordering the machine.
CAUTION
The machine is equipped with two pressure valves
stopping it if you want to overcome excessive slopes
at full load. Therefore, if uphill the machine stops
suddenly, this means that the transported load is
greater than the machine itself is capable of car-
rying. Then arrange to remove some of the load.
4.4.2 PARKING
The machine is equipped with a mechanical parking
brake acting on the drive wheels; it must be inserted
with the relative lever (12 Fig. 1) whenever the ma-
chine is stopped in a stalled position.
When the machine is moved, always make sure that
the lever is in the unlocked position.
WARNING
Never park the vehicle on a soft ground, near drop-
offs, ditches or slopes.
4.5 TILTING
The tilting of the dumper or the side box, is by operat-
ing the control lever (22, Fig. 1) for ALIEN 5.0 or (13
Fig. 1/A) for ALIEN 6.5.
Pushing the lever, the dumper or box lifts and carries
out the drain; pulling it backward, instead it lowers
and returns to its normal position.
WARNING
When the box is installed and before overturning,
remove the plugs (4 Fig. 8) to enable the probe to
open.
Before turning off the engine, make sure the box
or dumper are fully lowered by pulling back the
tipping control lever.
DANGER
- Avoid tipping the load on strongly inclined areas
as the moving of the material can lead to instabil-
ity and tilting of the vehicle.
- Do not leave the machine with the box or dump
in the raised position as it may accidentally fall
and cause damage to persons or property.
- When the box or dumper is relieved, do not
approach the machine for the possibility of ac-
cidental descent of the same.
- When tipping, constantly check that there are no
unauthorized beings in the vicinity as they may
be invested by the unloaded material.
4.6 AUXILIARY HYDRAULIC OUTLET
The machine can be equipped, on request, with an
additional hydraulic outlet for the application of an
accessory for hydraulic operation (concrete mixer,
excavator, etc.).
The plant is composed of a control lever (24 Fig. 1)
and a female quick and male coupling (20 Fig. 1). The
control lever is placed within the reach of the Operator
while the two couplings are positioned in the central
part of the frame.
The hydraulic outlet is subjected to pressure only
when the selector lever of the speed (18 Fig. 1) is in
the forward position (slow speed) and then ,in the
transfer phase, it cannot be used (lever 18, Fig. 1 in
fast position).
The hydraulic outlet is controlled by a lever with a
fixed position and is designed to apply accessories
to the machine that must remain in motion without
that the Operator acts on the lever, for example, a
