20 CHANGING THE DEFAULT SETTINGS (DVD)
2 The initial setting that was set prior to shipping from
the factory can be changed.
The setting contents are maintained until they are next
changed even when the power is switched off.
1 In the stop mode, press the SETUP button.
At the Setup Menu, use the and
buttons to select "DVD SETUP" and press the
ENTER button.
2 The setup (default settings) screen "DVD SETUP
MENU" appears.
• DISC SETUP
Use this to set the language to be used when
playing the disc.
If the set language is not offered on that disc,
the discs default language is set.
• OSD SETUP
Use this to set the language for the default
setting screen and messages displayed on the
TV screen ("PLAY", etc.) and wall paper color.
• VIDEO SETUP
Use this to set this unit screen mode.
(TV aspect and TV type.)
• AUDIO SETUP
Use this to set this unit audio output mode.
(Digital and LPCM output settings.)
• RATINGS
Use this to disable playback of adult DVDs so
that children cannot watch them. Note that
playback of adult DVDs cannot be disabled if the
rating level is not recorded on the DVD, but that
it is possible to disable playback of all DVDs.
• OTHER SETUP
These include special settings CAPTIONS.
Use the and cursor buttons to select the
desired setting item, then
press the ENTER button.

• VIDEO SETUP. (See page 42.)
• AUDIO SETUP. (See page 43.)
• RATINGS. (See page 44.)
To exit the DVD setup mode
At the setup screen in step 1 on page 40, use the
button. It is also possible to quit by pressing the SETUP button on the remote control unit.

Select this when you want to play the DVD with
the sound in German.
• ITALIAN
Select this when you want to play the DVD with
the sound in Italian.
• DUTCH
Select this when you want to play the DVD with
the sound in Dutch.
