13-OPERATING ANOMALIES
ANOMALY
The pump does not lift water.
Insufficient flow
The power consumption is higher
than expected.
The pump vibrates.
The stuffing box drips too much.
CAUSE
Pump not primed because of low
dynamic water level.
Low rotating speed.
Manometric head higher than
initially considered for the pump.
Air getting into suction pipe.

The unit is unable to turn freely.

SOLUTION
Increase the submergence.
Check the speed with a tachometer,
speed up the engine.
Increase the rotation speed of the
pump or increase the number of
stages.

Change the operating conditions of
the pump in the installation. Enquire

Check the axial adjustment
Loosen the stuffing box nuts.

Prime the pump
Fix the pump to the ground properly.

the pump in the installation. Enquire
at our technical service.
Replace the worn components.
Add packing. Fit the right sort.
