1.- INTRODUCTION
This service manual is intended for users of type VA, VHC vertical pumps. It contains the instructions
for installation, service and maintenance.
Before proceeding to do any kind of work on the equipment, users should read this manual carefully and
pay attention to any suggestions and tips given in it, particularly the ones preceded by the following safety
symbols:

The manual is supplied along with the pump and should be kept close to the point of installation, duly
protected so that this can be consulted by users when required.
2.- DESCRIPTION AND USE
2.1.- Description
The pumps described in this manual have one on more centrifugal impellers installed in serial disposal.
Pumps are suspended with a column pipe through which the water is pumped. Internally the line shaft
transmits. the power from motor on surface to pump.
2.2.- Use
These pumps are generally used for applications that require lifting large volumes of water to relatively low
heads. Typical uses are irrigation, water intakes for municipal water supply and power plant cooling, land
drainage and flood control, etc.
The standard version of the products is not suitable for:
q
Dry operation.
q
Pumping chemically and mechanically aggressive water.
q
Pumping water with a solid concentration exceeding 40 g/m (40 parts/million).
q
Pumping water with a temperature exceeding 60ºC.
TAKE NOTE.- Do not under any circumstances:

Locate the systems in premises classified as involving an explosion risk.
Use these for moving inflammable liquids.
