10.- HANDLING AND CONTROLS.
10.1. Grease lubricated bearing boxes
The bearing box (14) MUST NEVER BE GREASE FILLED TO THE TOP, as that would actually lead to an
excessive heating which would in turn damage its mechanisms ; just put a moderate amount of grease on
the upper part of the bearings it houses. ASTM-280, drop point 185
purpose.
Recommended grease.

Watch and replace every 300 operating hours. Either once a year or every 2400 operating hours,
disassemble and carefully clean it. The above recommended grease shall be utilized again.
10.2. Oil lubricated bearing boxes
The bearing box (14) should be filled with SAE 10 oil until reaches a safe level in the oil cup. This level
should b checked every 300 working hours and should be topped up if it has gone down.
NEVER REFILL THE BEARING BOX WITH OIL WHEN THE PUMP IS RUNING. The bearing box would
take more oil than required.

Once a year or every 2.400 working hours dismantle and clean carefully, and later till with the
recommended oil.
10.3. Columns with rubber bearings. Water lubrication.
It is advisable to fit the pump with a foot valve so that the column is always filled with water and all the
rubber bearings be lubricated. Nevertheless, the most advisable step to be taken in this connection is just
to count in to a water tank with a tap which would be connected to the hope the head incorporates for that
purpose.
The tap is open and the water is let to drop till at least half a tank has emptied prior to starting and wetting
the bearings. It will be locked again when the tank is filled again with the water which has been used to
drive the pump.
STARTING SHALL NEVER TAKE PLACE WITH DRY RUBBER BEARINGS.

A single minute of dry rubber bearing operation would be enough to render them damaged by
sticking.

This operation shall be repeated as many times as the installation is put in operation.
