OPERATION
Letter references in parenthesis (A) refer to the included Identification Key.
PREPARING THE POST DRIVER FOR USE
1.
Fill the Gearbox with grease (see Lubrication).
2.
Fill the fuel tank (R) with the fuel/oil mixture (see Fuel and Fueling).
3.
Clean the engine cooling fins and muffler of any debris.
4.
Clean the handles (J and M) of any oil or lubricants.
STARTING THE POST DRIVER
CAUTION! Failure to follow the steps below will result in rapid retraction of
the starter cord faster than you can let go. This will pull your hand and arm
toward the engine, possibly resulting in an injury.
Check that the Throttle Handle/Stop Button is functioning.
1.
Press the piling socket (H) onto the hammer socket until firmly seated.
2.
Before starting the tool for the first time, press repeatedly on the
transparent fuel priming bubble (S) to fill the carburetor with fuel.
3.
Move the choke lever (O) to the CLOSED position if the engine is cold. The
choke is unnecessary when starting a warm engine.
4.
Lay the tool flat on the floor. Hold one handle (M) and pull the starter
handle (A) lightly until you feel resistance, then pull the starter handle
briskly. The engine should turn over and start running.

Do not allow the starter handle to snap back against the engine.
Instead, return the starter grip gently by hand.
5.
If the engine floods, set the choke to the OPEN/RUN position, place the
throttle in FAST and attempt to start the engine again.
6.
If the choke lever was moved to the CLOSED position to start the engine,
gradually move it to the OPEN position as the engine warms up.
