MIXING 2-STROKE FUEL
DANGER! Fuel is very flammable. Use extreme care when mixing, storing or
handling fuel. An ignition source contacting the fumes or fuel may result in
a fire or explosion and cause fatal or serious injuries.
1.
Gasoline – Use 89 Octane or higher gasoline.
a.
Avoid gasoline containing alcohol such as gasohol when possible.
Gasohol containing up to 10% Ethyl alcohol is acceptable if necessary.
2.
Two-stroke oil – two-stroke engine oil must meet ISO-L-EGD
(ISO/CD 13738) and JASO FC standards.
3.
Do not use pre-mixed gasoline/lubricant from fuel service stations. This
includes the pre-mixed gasoline/lubricant intended for use in mopeds,
motorcycles, etc.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Gasoline to two-stroke oil ratio for this tool is 25 to 1.
a.
A richer ratio of 20 to 1 is used for the first 20 hours of use.
2.
Fill an approved container with half of the gasoline.
3.
Add the proper amount of two-stroke oil to the gasoline per Table 1.
4.
Close the container and shake to mix the oil with the gasoline.
5.
Add remaining gasoline to the container, close and remix.
6.
Mix in small quantities. Do not mix more fuel than can be used in a 30 day
period, 90 days if fuel
stabilizer is added.
a.
Fuel without an
alcohol additive are
less likely to form
gum and deposits
and should not
require a stabilizer.
HOW TO ADD FUEL
WARNING! Do not refuel the engine inside a building. Gasoline and its vapors
are extremely flammable and explosive. Keep gasoline away from appliance
pilot lights, barbecues, electric appliances, power tools, etc.
