Where the chamber is installed in areas that can be driven over (Class D), the telescopic upper cover section
must be lined
using a reinforced base plate made of concrete B35 at least 0.8 x 0.8 m thick (see Fig. [27]).
The exact design of the concrete plate must be calculated according to the given local circumstances.

When installation is carried out according to standard road-building regulations (RSto + ZTVE-StB, DIN
18196) the base plate is not required.
•
On top of the gravel layer compressed in 30 cm layers, a 6-8 cm bitumen base course <36> is applied; this is
topped off by a 4 cm asphalt layer <37>.
•
The groundwater level in the chamber system must not exceed 0.5 m.
