Recommendations prior to installation:
Before proceeding with installation make sure that all the necessary parts are present:
- the slat cover pre-assembled in 6-slat sections. If the pool features steps, the step-piece slats are on top
- the last slat (on the axle side) is fitted with slat/axle connecting straps.
Check that the 5 U-shaped parts designed to hold the connecting straps have been slid correctly into the groove
made in the axle (except for Ø 250 mm axles that should be equipped with metallic plates held in position with
screws). Check that the beam is also fitted with U-shaped parts (submerged covers only) to attach the
counterweight straps.
If installing a submerged cover, do not seal the coping at the beam anchors yet, this will facilitate passage of the
slats.
Assembling the slat cover:
By preference, the slat sections should be assembled by sliding the first slat of one section onto the last slat of
the previously assembled section. If possible, this should be done over water to dissipate heat generated when
the slats rub against each other. The last slat of each section features two notches 10 cm from each edge
designed to receive the first slat of the following slat section.
In the event that there is not enough room to slide the slats together, they may be clipped together.
If the slats are not all the same length, the cover sections will be numbered, the order of assembly must be
respected. Cover section 1 is always the section closest to the cover axle. Section 1 is the only cover section
whose first slat features tapered ends.
Solar slats should be stored in the shade prior to assembly. If this type of slat is exposed to the sun while it not in
contact with water it heats up and is deformed.
Slats deformed by heat are not replaced under guarantee.
Blocking the cover sections:
Once the cover is assembled, the plastic tabs on the slat plugs to prevent the slats from sliding sideways. On slats
with a silicon finish, these plastic tabs are replaced by locking pieces that are inserted into each end of the slat
and that serve the same purpose.
