Operating Modes
This model is equipped with one speaker and two amplifiers.
To control the amplifiers, this model has a three-way sound
control switch on the rear wall (Fig. 3):

Sound off
Pos. 1
The speakers in the front and rear A-units are
on. This position is for an A-B-A combination.
The speaker in the B-unit is off.
Pos. 2
The speakers in the front A-unit and the B-unit
are on. This position is for an A-B combination.
A volume control on the rear wall controls the volume of
both speakers.
Sound
The horn and bell can also be triggered by the LGB Sound
Magnet (17050) included with this model. The 17050 snaps
between the ties of most LGB track sections.
The magnet in the 17050 is mounted under the LGB logo
molded into the case. If the contact is installed with the logo
on one side of the track, it will trigger the horn (2 long blasts,
1 short , 1 long). If the contact is installed with the logo on
the other side, it will trigger the bell (8 rings).
This model does not require a battery.
Multi-Train System
The model is equipped with a factory-installed onboard de-
coder for the LGB Multi-Train System. It can be used without
modifications on analog or digital layouts. For operation with
the Multi-Train System, the model is programmed to loco
address 03.
When operating with the Multi-Train System, you can remo-
tely control the loco's functions. Press the function buttons
to control the following functions:
1: Horn signal "level crossing", 2 short, 1 long, 1 short blasts
2: Brake application
3: Bell
4: Announcement: "Highball, John!"
5: Alarm bell
6: Diesel motor off/on
7: Brake pressure release
8: Sound off/on
Hint: To obtain standing sounds with analog operation
while the throttle is turned off and when reversing the
locomotive's direction, the 65011 Sound Unit Power Storage
must be installed.
SERVICE
Lubrication
The axle bearings should be lubricated occasionally with a
small amount of LGB Maintenance Oil (50019).
