Adjusting the rod conveyor

Correct adjustment improves the inflow of the crop and
increases the working life of the conveyor.
Carry out the operations described.
1)
Loosen the screws (A).
2)
Unscrew the screw (B).
3)
Remove the fixed guard (C).
4)
Loosen the sprocket (E) to de-tension the transmis-
sion chain.
5)
Loosen the nut (D).
6)
Adjust the sprocket (F) using the stud bolt (G.
The rod conveyor must fit perfectly against the roll-
ers (H).
7)
Tighten the nut (D).
8)
Repeat the same procedure to adjust the position
of the sprocket at the opposite end.
9)
Tension the drive chain (see "Adjusting the trans-
mission chain tension").

10) Put the fixed guard (C) back in place.
11) Tighten the screw (B).
12) Tighten the screws (A).
NOTICE
The adjustment must be performed in exactly the
same way on both sides of the machine to prevent the
rod conveyor moving sideways during operation.
Check for any sideways movement when the rod con-
veyor is moving.
If the rod conveyor moves sideways, repeat the ten-
sioning procedure.
