6.2.2 MANUAL CLEANING
1. CLEANING THE SURFACES OF THE RACK (component B in figs. 1.4 and 2.6):
1.a Using a nonwoven fabric wipe impregnated in a solution of isopropyl alcohol (<20%) and quaternary ammonium
salts (<0.3%) (e.g. CaviWipes®), wipe over all the surfaces of the rack for 30 seconds. Use additional wipes
if dirt remains visible.
1.b Brush all the surfaces of the rack for 30 seconds using a soft bristle brush (e.g. a toothbrush) to eliminate all remain-
ing traces of dirt. If necessary, continue brushing until no dirt remains visible.
1.c Wipe all the surfaces of the rack at least twice (2 times) to remove all detergent residues, using a clean, non-frayed
wipe, damped (wet but not dripping) with purified water. Use additional clean, damp wipes if necessary.
2. CLEANING THE RECESSES IN THE RACK (component A in figs. 1.4 and 2.6):
2.a Using a nonwoven fabric wipe impregnated in a solution of isopropyl alcohol (<20%) and quaternary ammonium
salts (<0.3%) (e.g. CaviWipes®), wipe over all the recesses in the rack for 30 seconds, passing the wipe to and fro
through them. Use additional wipes if dirt remains visible.
2.b Brush all the recesses in the rack for 30 seconds using a soft bristle brush (e.g. a toothbrush) to eliminate all remain-
ing traces of dirt. If necessary, continue brushing until no dirt remains visible.
2.c Wipe all the recesses in the rack at least twice (2 times) to remove all detergent residues, using a clean, non-frayed
wipe, damped (wet but not dripping) with purified water. Use additional clean, damp wipes if necessary.
3. CLEANING THE SURFACES OF THE DISPENSER (component B in figs. 1.4 and 2.6):
3.a Using a nonwoven fabric wipe impregnated in a solution of isopropyl alcohol (<20%) and quaternary ammonium
salts (<0.3%) (e.g. CaviWipes®), wipe over all the surfaces of the dispenser for 30 seconds. Use additional wipes
if dirt remains visible.
3.b Brush all the surfaces of the dispenser for 2 minutes and 30 seconds using a soft bristle brush (e.g. a toothbrush) to
eliminate all remaining traces of dirt. If necessary, continue brushing until no dirt remains visible.
3.c Wipe all the surfaces of the dispenser at least twice (2 times) to remove all detergent residues, using a clean, non-
frayed wipe, damped (wet but not dripping) with purified water. Use additional clean, damp wipes if necessary.
4. CLEANING THE RECESSES IN THE DISPENSER (component B in figs. 1.4 and 2.6):
4.a Using a nonwoven fabric wipe impregnated in a solution of isopropyl alcohol (<20%) and quaternary ammonium salts
(<0.3%) (e.g. CaviWipes®), wipe over all the recesses in the dispenser, passing the wipe to and fro through
them and into the part that holds the rack for 30 seconds. Use additional wipes if dirt remains visible.
4.b Brush all the recesses in the rack for 30 seconds using a soft bristle brush (e.g. a toothbrush) to eliminate all remain-
ing traces of dirt. If necessary, continue brushing until no dirt remains visible.
4.c Wipe all the recesses in the rack at least twice (2 times) to remove all detergent residues, using a clean, non-frayed
wipe, damped (wet but not dripping) with purified water. Use additional clean, damp wipes if necessary.
6.2.3 MANUAL DISINFECTION
1. Using a nonwoven fabric wipe impregnated in a solution of isopropyl alcohol (<20%) and quaternary ammonium salts
(<0.3%) (e.g. CaviWipes®), wipe over all the surfaces and recesses of the dispenser and rack, making sure that they
remain visibly wet with the solution for the times specified by the manufacturer of the chosen disinfect-
ant. If necessary, use additional impregnated wipes to keep all the surfaces and recesses wet for the times specified by
the manufacturer of the chosen disinfectant.
2. Wipe all the surfaces and recesses of the dispenser and rack at least twice (2 times) to remove all traces of detergent,
using a clean, non-frayed wipe, damped (wet but not dripping) with purified water. Use additional clean, damp wipes
if necessary.
3. Leave the dispenser and rack to dry until they are obviously visibly completely dry.
4. Inspect the dispenser and rack to make sure that all visible contamination has been removed. If contaminants remain
visible, repeat the steps in sections 6.2.2 and 6.2.3. Replace the device if it becomes discoloured, damaged, worn or
misshapen.
5. No additional maintenance or lubrication is recommended.
