e) Inspection of the Retractable Main Landing Gear

Important!

The servo settings for the retractable landing gears and their smooth control are of essential importance for function and safety of the entire
receiver system.
If the landing gear linkages are not set correctly and do not run smoothly, the servos may run to "block". This can be heard by loud buzzing of the
servos and means increased power intake of the servos. This also means increased load for the BEC system installed in the speed adjuster (power
supply from the flight battery, stabilised to 5.5 V).
In extreme cases, this may cause total outage of the BEC because of overload and/or overheating and thus crashing of the plane because of lack
of function of the receiver system.
The main landing gear is controlled by a central servo that is installed
in the wing under a cover (1).
The chassis is mechanically arrested in both end positions.
Before any commissioning, check that the servo is not blocked (buzzes
loudly) when the main landing gear is extended or retracted. Otherwise,
look for the cause and remove it, e.g. by setting the thrust rod.
The main landing gear is visually and aerodynamically covered by
landing gear covers. Before every commissioning, check for tight and
correct fit of the landing gear cover.
