4.
Replace the oil filter in its location;
5.
Check that the plug is correctly in place;
6.
Replace the bolt and tighten the fixing bolt [(a) Fig. 32];
7.
Replace engine oil with new oil according to "9.1. CHANGING ENGINE OIL".
□ Discard used engine oil in accordance with environment regulations. We recommend pouring
used oil in a closed container and taking it to the nearest recycling centre or to a service station
so that it can be recycled. Never discard in a dustbin, in the ground or in sewers.
NOTE
Use high quality new oil. If you use dirty of poor quality oil, or is there is not enough oil, the lifespan
of oil will be reduced and the engine will be damaged.
9.3. SERVICING AIR FILTER
NOTE
The air filter MUST remain perfectly clean. A dirty filter, caused by a poor fitting or a poor
maintenance, shall damage the pump and cause engine wear. The air filter must be perfectly
clean, at any time.
□ Do not clean the filter element with aviation fuel, petrol or heating fuel.
1.
Remove the holding wing nut [(a) Fig. 33];
2.
Remove the protection cover [(b) Fig. 33];
3.
Remove the holding wing nut [(c) Fig. 33] of the air filter elements;
4.
Remove the elements [(d) and (e) Fig. 33] and separate them;
5.
Check that both elements are not torn or obstructed;
6.
The urethane foam [(e) Fig. 33]:
— Wash and clean urethane foam using a special detergent for air filter. Immerse the element in
a solution of lukewarm water and non-foaming household detergent, then rinse, or;
— clean it in a non-flammable solvent;
— then let it dry completely. Dip the element in clean engine oil and squeeze it to remove excess
oil. If the amount of oil left in the foam is excessive, the engine will smoke during the next
starts.
7.
The paper element [(d) Fig. 33]: To clean the paper element, gently tap it a few times against
a hard surface to drop dirt, or blow with air compressed from the inside to out. Never brush
the element, the brushing would penetrate the impurities inside the fibers. Replace the paper
element when it is very dirty;
