□ Do not crush the suction and discharge pipes [Fig. 24].
□ Protect the suction and discharge hoses from possible vehicle passages and avoiding to trample
the suction and discharge hoses [Fig. 21].
7. STOPPING THE PUMP
■ Prior to disconnecting the water fittings, make sure the pump has stopped.
■ Never disconnect the fittings when the pump is running.
□ If the delivery hose is equipped with a valve, stop the engine before closing the valve [Fig. 26].
7.1. STOPPING THE ENGINE (DIESEL)
ELECTRIC START
If the pump was started with key switch (electrical system):
Move speed control lever to SLOW (IDLE) position [Fig. 19] during 1 minute, then to the STOP

Turn key switch to OFF position [Fig. 28].
RECOIL START (MANUAL)
If the pump was started with recoil starter (RD 75 and SWT 75 D) ;
Move speed control to SLOW (Idle) position [Fig. 19] during 1 minute, then to the STOP position

2.
Slightly pull the starter rope until it becomes a bit difficult. Let it come back to initial position
[Fig. 21];
Turn the key switch to OFF position [Fig. 28].
3.
IN CASE OF LOW TEMPERATURE (≤ 0°C)
After stopping the engine:
1.
Remove the drain plug from the pump body [Fig. 29];
2.
Drain the water from the body pump [Fig. 30];
3.
Empty water from suction and discharge pipes.
