Press the rubber grommets and the metal spacers into the servo mounting lugs.
Fit the elevator and rudder servos in the servo plate and drill 1.5 mm Ø pilot-holes
through the mounting grommets. Fit the retaining screws to secure the servos.
Tape the control surfaces at the neutral (centre) position and connect the clevises to
the horns. Mark the correct length of the pushrods at the servo end.
Bend the pushrods at right-angles at the marked point, and cut off the excess
material so that the rods project past the retaining clips by about 1.5 mm.
Lengthen the aileron servos by connecting the appropriate extension leads (Order
No. 3935.11) to them. Wrap tape round the connectors to prevent them working
loose.
Fit the aileron servos in the recesses in the wing panels and secure them with the
retaining screws provided.
Allow the aileron extension leads to fall through the wings, and guide them out of the
openings in the root ribs.
Mark the position of the horns on the ailerons. Please note the following: on the one
hand the pushrods must run parallel to the outside face of the servo; on the other the
aileron pushrod linkage holes must be in line with the hinge pivot axis.
Fix the horns to the ailerons using the screws and plastic spreader plates supplied in
the kit. Tighten the retaining screws just to the point where the horns are firmly fixed,
but take care not to over-tighten them. Snip off excess screw length on the top
surface using side-cutters, then file the ends back flush with the spreader plates.
Connect the clevises to the aileron horns. Set the servo to centre, and use a felt-tip
pen to mark the point on the pushrod where it crosses the linkage hole in the servo
output arm. Bend the pushrod at right-angles at the marked point, then cut off the
excess rod so that it projects about 1.5 mm beyond the retainer clip. Connect the
pushrod, then repeat the procedure with the second aileron.
Attach the motor to the front panel of the motor mount using the screws supplied with
the motor.
Apply white glue (UHU Wood Express Glue) to the motor mount, slot it into the nose
bulkhead, and slide it down as far as it will go.
Apply a generous fillet of glue to all the inside corners between the nose bulkhead
and the motor mount.
