INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE/SETTINGS
SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR SAFE USE:
Substitution of components may impair intrinsic safety.
Equipment with broken or otherwise damaged enclosure shall not be operated.
Use only 3M™ Peltor™ ACK08 battery.
Change batteries only in locations known to be non hazardous!
Charge only with specified charger cable 3M™ Peltor™ AL2AH!
WARNING! If the recommendations given in this instruction manual are not adhered to, the protection afforded by the ear-muffs
will be severely impaired.
ON/OFF/MODE
Switch the 3M™ Peltor™ Lite-Com Pro II on and off by pressing and holding the ON/OFF/MODE button for approximately two
seconds. A voice message confirms that the unit has been switched on or off. A slowly flashing LED on the button shows that the
3M™ Peltor™ Lite-Com Pro II is switched on. When the unit is transmitting or receiving, the LED flashes faster.
Press ON/OFF/MODE (Θ) briefly to move through the menu. Press the button slowly, one step at a time,
to confirm each step in a voice message. If you press the button faster, you will only receive voice
confirmation of the function where you stop.
Current settings are stored when the unit is switched off.
NO MENU RETURN (Standard configured headset)
The first button press (mode/up/down) will repeat the active menu level without changing the menu level/setting. Next button press will
change the menu level/setting. 7 seconds after the last button press the menu function will return to the last set menu level.
SURROUND (Ambient sound level)
This product provides a level-dependent facility. When the 3M™ Peltor™ Lite-Com Pro II is used as an "active hearing protector",
the amplification of ambient sound is adjusted by pressing the UP (+) and DOWN (–) buttons. The change is confirmed with a voice
message. There are normally 5 sound levels and an off mode. On level 5 the maximum sound pressure is reduced to approximately 82
dB, which allows a maximum exposure time of 8 hours to protect damaging your hearing.
Amplification of ambient sound can also be switched off by reducing the volume to its lowest position using the DOWN (–) button and
holding the button for about two seconds. A voice message "surround off" confirms that the function has been switched off.
The criterion levels, the external noise level for which the A-weighted equivalent sound pressure level equals 85 dB(A) inside the ear
cups. The criterion levels are available for H, high frequencies, M, medium frequencies and L, low frequencies in (Fig.M).
WARNING!
•
This ear-muff is provided with level-dependent attenuation. The wearer should check correct operation before use. If distortion
or failure is detected, the wearer should refer to the advice for maintenance and replacement of the battery.
•
When this function is switched off the ambient sound may become inaudible by the hearing protector! To re-activate the function,
press UP (+) and the 3M™ Peltor™ Lite-Com Pro II again works as an "active hearing protector" that limits the sound level.
•
Performance may deteriorate with battery usage. The typical period of continuous use that can be expected from the product
battery is 10-14 hours.
•
The output of the level-dependent circuit of this hearing protector may exceed the external sound level.
RADIO (Communication radio volume level)
Use the UP (+) and DOWN (–) buttons to set the incoming volume from the built-in communication radio. A voice message confirms
the new setting each time you press the button. There are normally 5 volume steps and an off mode. To access off mode, press and
hold the DOWN (–) button for two seconds when at the lowest radio volume level. A voice message confirms "radio off".
WARNING!
•
With special software there is a possibility to further increase the amplification of the ambient sound. Two more sound levels can
be added, where level 6 is approximately 87 dB and level 7 is approximately 89 dB.
•
The exposure time should be reduced accordingly to protect damaging your hearing!
•
When "radio off" the menus CHANNEL, VOX, SQUELCH, POWER are hidden.
No radio communication is audible in the off mode.
To switch the radio back on, press the UP (+) button. You start receiving at the lowest radio volume level.
