2 Putting the Telephone into Operation
Safety information
Checking the package contents
The package contains:
− a base unit
− a telephone connection cable
− an operating manual
Connecting the receiver
Plug the short end of the helix cable in the socket on the bottom end of the receiver.
Then plug the long end in the „receiver cableˆ connection socket on the underside of the base
unit. Feed the cable through the cable duct leading out.
Inserting the batteries
Insert the batteries before connecting the telephone to the telephone network. Always use
AAA / 1.5V Alkaline batteries. The batteries are required for the CLIP, handsfree and other
telephone functions.
Replace the batteries when the
be replaced so that the caller number display and handsfree functions work properly. If the bat-
teries are fully discharged, the display remains dark and the handsfree function no longer
works.

Connecting the telephone
Connect the telephone connection cable enclosed to the telephone line socket and the tele-
phone socket marked LINE" on the rear of the telephone.
Tabletop supports
If you want to place the telephone on a tabletop, pivot out the supports on the underside of the
telephone.
