Grilling
When grilling, it is usually easier to reach the desired temperature by keeping the lower
ventilation opening completely open and adjusting only the upper ventilation opening.
• Remove the trivet before lighting.
• When the charcoal is completely lit, insert the grill.
• Close the hood and preheat for 10 minutes.
• Make sure that the lower ventilation opening is fully open. Open the top vent and
monitor the temperature until your desired temperature is reached.
• Close the top vent halfway, wait 5 minutes and check the temperature.
• Adjust the temperature by closing the top vent (lower temperature) or opening it
(higher temperature).
• Once the desired temperature is reached, place the food on the grill. You can
also place additional roast dishes on the warming rack. Close the hood and start
roasting.
• Monitor the temperature during cooking. If you notice that the temperature is
outside your desired range, adjust the upper ventilation opening in small steps and
wait 1-2 minutes.
• Use a meat thermometer to monitor the roast temperature and cooking degree.
Smoking
The temperature for smoking should be as low as possible. You can achieve a low
temperature by almost closing the lower ventilation opening. Adjust the upper ventilation
opening to control the air flow.
• Install the trivet before lighting.
• Do not use too much coal.
• When the charcoal is completely lit, place the heat protector on the coaster. Place
your smoke box (optional) with wood chips and collection tray (if available) on the
heat protection. Then attach the grill to its place.
• Close the hood and close the lower ventilation opening almost completely.
• Half close the top vent, wait 5 minutes and check the temperature.
• Adjust the temperature by closing (lower temperature) or opening (higher
temperature) the top vent.
• When the desired temperature is reached, place the food on the grill. You can also
smoke on the warming rack. Close the hood and start smoking.
• Monitor the temperature during cooking. If you notice that the temperature is
outside your desired range, adjust the upper ventilation opening in small steps and
wait 1-2 minutes.
