N Position the deflector (1) on the
gearhead.
The molding (2) locates around the neck
of the gearhead.
N Fit the clamp (3).
N Insert the screws with washers and
tighten them down firmly.
The grass shield (4) is used with some
mowing attachments to optimize
performance.
Fitting the Skirt and Blade
When using nylon line mowing heads

These parts must be fitted to the
deflector (1) when you use a
mowing head.
N Slide the skirt (2) onto the
deflector (1) – use lower guide
slot (4) for all nylon line mowing
heads.
N Push the blade (3) into the upper
guide slot on the skirt and line it up
with the first hole.
N
Insert the screw and tighten it down
firmly.
When using STIHL PolyCut 41-3
mowing head
N
Slide the skirt into the lower guide
slot (4) for the PolyCut 41-3.
