• In the event of a power interruption, switch off the
product and remove the battery. This prevents
accidental start up of the product when power is
restored.
• In the event of a power interruption, and every
time you set down the product, check to see whe-
ther the locking button is locked, and lock if it is
not. Otherwise the product may start up unexpec-
tedly when power is applied.
• In the event that the connection cable (charger)
is damaged, it may only be replaced by a specia-
list.
• When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces
the risk of electric shock.
• If the operation of an power tool in a damp envi-
ronment is absolutely unavoidable, use a resi-
dual current circuit-breaker with a trigger current
of 30 mA or less. Use of an RCD reduces the risk
of electric shock. NOTE: The term "residual cur-
rent device (RCD)" may be replaced by the term
"ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI)" or "earth
leakage circuit breaker (ELCB)".
• Do not force the product. Use the appropriate
power tool for the task in hand. The correct power
tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for
which it was designed.
• Do not use the power tool if the switch does not
turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must
be repaired.
• Disconnect the plug from the power source and/
or remove the battery pack before making any
settings, changing accessories, or storing the
product. These safety measures prevent the pro-
duct from being started unintentionally.
• Store power tools that are not in use out of the
reach of children. Do not allow persons to ope-
rate the product who are not familiar with it, or
who have not read these operating instructions.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrai-
ned users.
• Maintain power tools with care. Check for misa-
lignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts and any other condition that may affect the
power tool's operation. Have damaged parts
repaired before using the product.
Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.
• Use the power tool, accessories and other tools
etc., in accordance with these instructions. Take
account of the working conditions and the task to
be carried out.

• Use of the power tool for purposes for which it
was not intended may result in a hazardous situ-
ation.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before tur-
ning the product on. A tool or wrench in one of the
rotating parts of the product may cause injury.
• If you have your finger on the switch when carry-
ing the power tool, this may lead to accidents.
Safety notes for power hoes
General notes
• Read the operating instructions carefully. Make
sure that you are familiar with the adjustment ele-
ments and the correct use of the unit.
• Never allow children or other people who are not
familiar with the operating instructions to operate
the machine. Regional legislation may specify
the minimum permitted age of the user.
• Never work when other people, particularly child-
ren, or animals are in the vicinity.
• Remember that the operator or user is respon-
sible for accidents involving other people or
damages to their property.
Preparation
• When working, always wear sturdy shoes and
long trousers. Never operate the machine with
bare feet or in light-weight sandals.
• Check the site you wish to process with the
machine, before you do so, and remove all
objects that may be thrown up by the machine.
• Before using, carry out a visual check to make
sure that the tools are not worn or damaged. In
order to avoid imbalance, worn or damaged parts
and fixing bolts may only be replace in sets.
Handling
• Only work in daylight or with good lighting.
• Ensure that you are standing firmly when opera-
ting on slopes.
• Only operate the unit at walking speed.
• When using machines on wheels: Work across
the slope, never up or down slope.
• Be particularly careful when changing direction
on a slope.
• Do not work on very steep slopes.
• Be particularly careful when turning the machine
or pulling it towards you.
• Do not change the basic settings of the motor, or
overwork it.
• Start the motor carefully in accordance with the
instructions from the manufacturer and ensure
that there is plenty of space between your feet
and the tool(s).
• Never put hands or feet onto or under rotating
parts.
