RROR COUNT
The receiver features three internal error (glitch) counters for the
following errors:
Low voltage
Reception blind spots (severe field strength fluctuations)
Signal interference
The LED displays the sum of the errors in the three error coun-
ters as soon as an error is detected:

In our experience the errors described here occur during virtually
all flights. Signal errors in particular occur quite often with FM/
PPM transmission. Generally speaking, the operator does not
even notice them, but the highly sensitive signal error counter
still registers them. After a few sessions, with subsequent analy-
sis of the error count, you will find the glitch counter helpful as a
means of detecting changes in good time, and as an indicator of
possible causes of interference and other problems, e.g.
shortcomings in the power supply circuit, interference caused by
the power system, electrical "noise" caused by metal-to-metal
contact, etc.
16.1 Low voltage error count
The counter records the seconds during which the voltage falls
below 4.4 V, either briefly or constantly.
16.2 Field strength fluctuations error count (reception blind
spots)
The counter records the seconds in which the field strength
collapses. Instances of constant low field strength (transmitter
off) are not counted.
16.3 Signal interference error count
The counter records the seconds in which the signal packet is
not within the prescribed format, e.g. too many, too short or too
long servo signals.
If voltage falls (voltage collapse), reception blind spots and
signal interference are not counted. If a blind spot occurs, signal
interference is not counted. However, signal errors often occur
before or after a collapse in field strength or voltage, and these
are counted.
16.4 Store error count
If the LED indicates errors, you can store this information
permanently in the receiver by pressing the receiver button
briefly. You can then analyse the information on your PC at
home (
19.).
! Note:
If the voltage falls below 3.0 V for a long period, the receiver's
processor will restart. If this should happen, the values for all
three error counters are lost.
! Note: power-on delay
The error counters only start operating after a delay of 20
seconds after the receiver is switched on.
! Note: error counter when the IPD filter is OFF
If the IPD filter is switched off, the receiver does not count the
signal errors, and no errors are displayed. Errors are only
displayed again when the IPD filter is re-activated (

IAGNOSIS MODE
Diagnosis mode can be helpful when you need to carry out
adjustments on the model, but the transmitter cannot be allowed
to radiate an RF signal. The transmitter (MULTIPLEX transmitter
with multi-function socket) is connected directly to the receiver
using an MPX switch harness with charge socket and a
diagnosis lead, # 8 5105. The switch harness must be connec-
ted to the socket marked "B/D" (D = Diagnosis).
When you switch the system on, the receiver detects that the
diagnosis lead is connected. For this reason the transmitter must
be switched on before the receiver. The signal packet is
received directly from the transmitter via the diagnosis lead, and
not via the RF link.
The RF signal is not restored automatically when you disconnect
the Diagnosis lead. The receiver must first be switched on again.
! Note:
First switch the receiver OFF, then the transmitter OFF, then
disconnect the Diagnosis lead.
During Diagnosis operations the LED glows constantly. The
error counter does not operate during Diagnosis operations.
18. RX-SYNTH S
If the receiver is permanently installed in the model, and the
button and LED on the receiver are not accessible, the unit can
be controlled using the RX-SYNTH set-up lead which is
available as an optional accessory. Connect the lead to the
socket marked "B/D", and install it in an easily accessible
location on the model. The RX-SYNTH set-up lead can be
extended if necessary using a standard UNI extension lead (e.g.
# 8 5031).
The RX-SYNTH set-up lead features a 3-pin connector marked
"PC". This can be used to connect the receiver to a PC (
! Note:
When you press the button on the RX-SYNTH set-up lead, the
LED on the set-up lead does not light up! The LED in the
receiver continues to work in the normal way if the button on the
RX-SYNTH set-up lead is pressed.

PROGRAM
All MULTIPLEX RX-SYNTH IPD receivers incorporate micro-
controllers (FLASH technology). This means that it is possible to
connect the receiver to a PC or notebook using the PC
connecting lead (# 8 5149 USB, # 8 5150 serial).
You can download the RX-SYNTH DataManager PC program
from the MULTIPLEX website (www.multiplex-rc.de). This pro-
gram opens up more possible functions for the RX-SYNTH re-
ceiver:
Expanded receiver options, such as:
Freely variable HOLD and FAIL-SAFE time, activate and
adjust HOLD / FAIL-SAFE channel by channel, set RF-
channel manually, ...
Software update.
Scanner funktion:
The channels in use on the corresponding frequency band
are displayed in graphic form. With alarm and logbook
function.
Read out error counter / memory:
The error count for signal interference errors, field strength
errors and low voltage errors can be read out separately.
