INSTRUCTIONS COULD COMPROMISE THE CORRECT WORKING ORDER OF THE SYSTEM AND CREATE DANGER
SITUATIONS FOR THE USERS OF THE SYSTEM.
• These instructions are aimed at professionally qualified "installers of
electrical equipment" and must respect the local standards and regu-
lations in force. All materials used must be approved and must suit the
environment in which the installation is situated.
• Thisappliancemustbeusedexclusivelyforthepurposeforwhichithasbeen
made. "i.e. for the automation of gates and doors" Any non authorised
modifications are to be considered improper and therefore dangerous.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for situations arising from the use
of an electrical installation which does not conform to the local standards
and regulations in force and in particular when the earthing circuit is not
efficient.
• After having installed the device (and before powering up the program-
mer) proceed as follows: release the gate (manual release mechanism) and
move it manually, checking that it moves smoothly and has no unusual
points of resistance and that the travel limits activate correctly, then block
the gate again.
Warning! The geared motor unit has been assembled in the factory
to be fitted to the right side of the gate. Read the paragraph on page 14
"instructions for positioning the unit".
General characteristics
This product and all its relative components has been designed and manu-
factured by Cardin Elettronica who have verified that the product conforms
in every aspect to the safety standard in force.
Use
The unit 101/SL70-101/SL70M is suitable for driving sliding gates with
weights of up to 700 kg. The motor can be installed both to the right and

This manual covers the following models:
101/SL70
Single-phase electromechanical unit for sliding gates up to 700 kg in
weight. Suitable for particular applications which require the programmer to
be installed in a location different from the geared unit.
The unit does not feature on board electronics and we advise you to use
an electronic programmer which can be ordered apart from Cardin Elet-
tronica.
101/SL70M
Single-phase electromechanical unit for sliding gates up to 700 kg in
weight. The incorporated electronic programmer is fitted with all the con-
nections needed to carry out an automatic installation and comes complete
with electronic torque regulation.
The appliance is fitted with an interface for the insertion of a standard radio
receiver card and has the following features:

The appliance is made up of the following:
• Radio control receiver interface
• Serial selector interface
• Torque limiter which allows the adjustment of the power supply to the motor
according to the size of the gate.
The torque rate can be set almost to the minimum value as the incorporated
logic guarantees maximum power (for a duration of 2 seconds) to each move-
ment command.

106/CRENY - Rack (20 mm x 30 mm) in glass fibre with upper
fastening slits (1 m).
106/CRENY1 - Rack (20 mm x 30 mm) in glass fibre with lower
fastening slits (1 m).
106/SLOAC - Rack in galvanised steel (22 mm x 22 mm)
2 m to be welded.
106/SLOAC2 - Rack in galvanised steel (12 mm x 30 mm)
1 m with fastening slits.
950/xLbS - Contact safety edge available in lengths of:
1,5 and 3,0 m maximum height 70 mm.
Technical description
• Single phase drive motor mounted on an aluminium base with an incorporated
overload protector.
• The reduction gears are mounted on an aluminium stator. Reduction is carried
out by means of a system of worm gear and a helicoidal crown wheel and is
lubricated with permanently fluid grease.
• Electronic components support board in ABS with a slide-in transparent
protective cover.
• Carter in ABS with the following features:
- a system of self-guiding screws allowing rapid fitting to the frame.
- a lockable inspection port allowing access to the gear releasing mecha-
nism.
- magnetic security relay (blocking the motor) which cuts in when the carter is
removed or the inspection port is opened.
• Base plate with fixing bolts and anchor plates in zinc plated steel.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

It is the responsibility of the installer to make sure that the following public safety
conditions are satisfied:
1) Ensure that the gate operating installation is far enough away from the main
road to eliminate possible traffic disruptions and that the size of the gate, the
distance from the road and the work cycle speed can in no way interfere,
causing possible traffic hazards.
2) The operator must be installed on the inside of the property and not on the
public side of the gate.
3) The gate operator is designed for use on gates through which vehicles are
passing. Pedestrians should use a separate entrance.
4) The gate must be in full view when it is operating therefore controls must be
situated in a position where the operator can see the gate at all times.
