POSITIONING AND RESTRAINT
Positioning and travel restraint
harness: ANSI/ASSE Z359.3-
2007 standard.
The ventral attachment point, the
sternal attachment point and the
lateral attachment points on the
waistbelt are designed to either
hold the user in position at the
work-station, or to prevent the
user from entering an area where
a fall is possible.
These attachment points are not
designed for fall arrest usage.
Always use the two lateral
attachment points together by
linking them with a positioning
lanyard in order to be
comfortably supported by the
waistbelt.
The lanyard must be kept taut.

The equipment loops
must only be used to
attach and support
equipment.
WARNING DANGER,
never use equipment
loops for belaying,
rappelling, tying-in, or
anchoring a person.
Various
Anchors
The anchor point for the system
should preferably be located above the
user's position and should meet the
requirements of the current standards.
Rescue plan
You must have a rescue plan and the
means to rapidly implement it in case
of difficulties encountered while using
this equipment. This implies adequate
training in the necessary rescue
techniques.
Rescue and evacuation:
If you have to evacuate a person, use
the sternal attachment point (preferred)
or the dorsal attachment point on the
harness of the person to be rescued.
Work environment:
Be vigilant when working near sources
of electricity, moving machinery or
abrasive or sharp surfaces.
WARNING, chemical products, heat and
corrosion can damage your harness.
In these environments, you must
frequently inspect the condition of the
harness during use.
Specific PPE control:
In addition to the inspections before
and during use, to be in accord with the
ANSI standard an in-depth inspection
of your harness must be done at least
twice a year.
Others:
The instructions for use for each item of
equipment used in conjunction with this
product must be respected.
The instructions for use must be
provided to users of this equipment.

ANCHORS
Anchors used for personal
fall arrest devices must be
of sufficient strength to
hold a static load applied in
every direction allowed by
the device of at least:
(a) Twice the maximum
arrest force permitted by
the system in use when the
system is certified to ANSI
Z359.2. (chapter 7.2.3)
(b) 22.2 kN (5000 lbf)
when not certified.
When multiple personal
fall arrest devices are
attached to an anchor, the
minimum strength of the
anchor must be multiplied
by the number of devices
attached to it.
