BASIC SEWING
Straight Stitch Sewing
q Pattern selector:
w Presser foot:
e Needle thread tension:
r Stitch length:
z Raise presser foot and position the fabric next
to a seam guide line on the needle plate.
Lower the needle to the point where you want
to start.
Pull the thread toward the rear and lower the
presser foot.
Depress the foot control to start sewing.
Gently guide the fabric along a seam guide
line letting the fabric feed naturally.
x For fastening the ends of seams, press the
reverse stitch lever and sew several reverse
stitches.
The machine sews in reverse as long as you
press and hold the reverse stitch lever.
c Cut the threads with the thread cutter.
The threads are now the proper length to begin
sewing the next seam.
Changing Sewing Direction
Stop the machine and turn the handwheel toward
you to bring the needle down into the fabric. Raise
the presser foot.
Pivot the fabric around the needle to change the
sewing direction as desired.
Lower the foot and start sewing in a new direction.
