If you do not ascertain a connection to another appliance, try the STECOM-component in anot-
her plug socket, this does make a difference in some cases.
If the problem lies with several components, the transmission performance may be increased
by plugging the control unit into a different socket.

12. TIPS

o The system components (motion detector, switching sockets etc.) are automatically
assigned to the LED's/buttons on the control unit when the system is operated for the
first time, you cannot define this allocation yourself.
o Once the system is operating, you can select which plug sockets you wish to use.
(Important: not when the system is armed!) If the LED's on the control unit for each
system component illuminate or flash after selecting another socket, the system is auto
matically ready for operation.
You can, for example, take the control unit from the living room into the bedroom of an
evening, or even give it to a neighbour when you leave the house.
o You can save having to unplug the control unit each time, by extending the system with
a parallel control unit, which you can leave in the bedroom or with a neighbour.
o You can connect several lights or appliances to one switching socket or alarm switch
using a multiple socket connector. Please observe that the max. load is 1000 W.
o If you are anxious that there could be a power cut, or that an intruder may switch off the
power supply before entering the house, you can attach a standby power supply module
(option) to the control unit, to the motion detectors and to the siren. Your STECOM-
Alarm-System will then continue to function, even in the case of a power cut. If you wish
to connect components from a different manufacturer (motion detectors, pressure mats,
window monitoring devices etc.) or another alarm system to the STECOM-Alarm-
System, this is possible via an interface module (option).
o The telephone dialling device (option) connects the STECOM-Alarm-System to the tele
phone network. Using this device you can, for example monitor your holiday home
whilst at home, or you can be informed of any irregularities in your house whilst at your
workplace.
o The oval sticker provided is intended as a discouragement to intrude.
o You can place the folded concise instructions in the compartment at the rear of the
control unit.
