6.THE ALARM FUNCTION
The STECOM-Alarm-System reports visually and acoustically any dangerous situations that
arise.
The motion detector registers intruders, report this to the control unit, and an alarm is trigge
red.
6.1
Arming the system
Press the blue "alarm" button on the control unit.
After a time elapse of approx. 2 minutes, the system is armed. In these 2 mins., the
red
"active" LED on the control unit flashes, then is lit constantly.
To ensure that you do not trigger the alarm yourself when leaving the house,
there is a time lapse of 1 minute before the system is armed.
Once the time has elapsed, the control unit produces an acoustic
warn signal. From this point on, any movement registered by the detector
triggers an alarm. An altered frequency in the flashing of the red LED signals visually
that the system is armed.
6.2
Disarming the system
In order to avoid triggering an alarm yourself, you have 30 seconds
after triggering a motion detector, to disarm the alarm system.
To do this, press the blue button on the control unit.
The red "active" LED on the control unit is no longer lit,
the system is disarmed.
7. THE ALARM
If an alarm is triggered, your STECOM-Alarm-System reacts as follows:
The yellow LED on the control unit, corresponding to the triggered detector starts flashing.
Simultaneously, the control unit produces an acoustic signal for 5 seconds.
After a further 25 seconds, a louder alarm sounds, and if you have connected a siren, this also
sounds. Simultaneously, all sources of light or electrical items connected to the alarm system
via the switching socket(s) and the alarm switch, are switched on.
The acoustic alarm sounds for 30 seconds and is repeated on the siren at intervals. The swit-
ching sockets remain activated for 10 minutes and the alarm switch remains activated for the
set time.
The alarm can only be deactivated by pressing the blue button on the control unit.
To switch off the sources of light connected to the switching sockets, press the corresponding
button (1 to 4) on the control unit.
If you have not switched off the alarm, the STECOM-Alarm-System re-arms automatically after
10 minutes. The next irregularity leads renewed to triggering of the alarm.
The siren and the alarm switch are also deactivated when the alarm is deactivated at the con-
trol unit (see above).
Press the "silence" button on the siren to deactivate or interrupt the sounding of the siren. This
can however only take place once the siren is triggered (LED "active" on the siren flashes),
and not beforehand.
You can shorten the set time on the alarm switch, either by switching the alarm off at the con-
trol unit, or shortening the time at the alarm switch.
Note:
o The STECOM-Alarm-System also triggers the alarm when one of the system components is
removed from the power supply whilst armed (tamper alarm). If the control unit is removed, it is
then signalled by the siren (option).
