Control panels
Arc-adjust (MIG/MAG)
8
Arc-adjust (electronic choke) makes it
possible to adjust the speed of reaction to short-
circuits. Arc-adjust can be set in steps from -5.0 to +5.0.
Seam average
9
When the arc is extinguished, current and voltage
indicators are switched on. The seam average
indicator flashes. Mean value for current and voltage
for the last 10 sec. welding are displayed for 5 seconds
or until you turn the control knobs.
Lock symbol
10
Lock:
Insert the SD lock card and choose "1", "2"
or "All" using the right control knob.
Unlock: Reinsert the SD lock card to unlock the
control panel. For detail information, see
instruction manual (50115003).
Temperature fault
11
The indicator flashes, when the power source is
overheated.
Mixed transfer
12
(only synergic welding programs)
The indicator is switched on and warns that settings
are in the mixed transfer range with risk of weld
spatter.
Display of error codes
13
See instruction manual (50115003).
Selecting sequences
14
Press and hold down the key to open the
sequence function (digit flashes). Choose
number of sequences by means of the right control
knob. Press the key to accept the choice of sequences.
Change sequences by briefly activating the torch
trigger or pressing the key. Sequences change
automatically (during welding), if a spot welding time
has been set in the sequence concerned. Deactivate
the sequence function by adjusting number of
sequences to 0.
Hotstart (Manual MIG/MAG)
(increased welding current when igniting the arc)
Choose 2 sequences. Set the hotstart time by means
of F39 in secondary parameter in sequence 1. Set wire
feed speed and voltage during the hotstart period in
sequence 1 and wire feed speed and voltage for the
welding sequence in sequence 2.
DUO Plus
(Manual MIG/MAG)
TM
(pulsating effect in the weld pool)
Choose 2 sequences. Set the pulse time and pause time
by means of F39 in secondary parameters in sequences
1 and 2 respectively. Set wire feed speed and voltage
for pulse time and pause time in sequences 1 and 2
respectively.
Tack welding (Synergic MIG/MAG)
15
This key enables switch-over between actual
welding program and tack welding. In tack
welding it is not possible to set sequence, hot-start
and slope-down. The function has its own current
value. In tack welding, trigger mode is always two-
times.
10
Duo PLUS
(Synergic MIG/MAG)
TM
16
Duo PLUS
pulsates the wire and enables
TM
welding with "slow pulse" as seen in many TIG-
machines. This welding method can be seen as a line
of partly overlapping welding spots which results in a
characteristic welding seam similar to a TIG-welding
seam.
The advantage of this function is that the heat zone
is reduced while penetration ability is increased and
welding speed is maintained. This is useful in case of
special requirements for controlling the heat zone, e.g.
when joining two different plate thicknesses.
Pulse welding
17
MIG pulse welding on/off.
Selecting trigger mode
18
Trigger mode can be selected in MIG/MAG. When
the indicator is on, 4-times has been selected and
when the indicator is off, 2-times has been selected.
Trigger mode cannot be changed during welding.
2-times:
Welding starts when the torch trigger is held down. To
end welding, release the torch trigger, after which burn
back starts. It is possible to trigger the machine again
during post flow.
4-times:
Welding starts when the torch trigger is held down. The
trigger can then be released and welding continues. To
end welding, hold down the torch trigger again, after
which burn back starts.
When you press and hold the key, the two control knobs
enable adjustment during welding, e.g. of wire feed
speed (m/min.).
Setting secondary parameters
Press and hold the key at the right control knob:
FXX is displayed and secondary parameters will
be adjustable. Press the key briefly to return to normal
display.
MMA hot-start (MMA)
MMA hot-start helps establish the arc when
welding starts. When the electrode touches the work
material, the welding current automatically increases.
The increased start current is held for a fixed time,
after which it drops to the value, which has been set
for the welding current. The hot-start value indicated
the percentage value with which the start current is
increased. It can be set between 0 and 100 % of the set
current.
Hot-start time (MMA)
Hot-start time determines the time in which
welding in hot-start takes place. The time can be set
between 0.0 and 20.0 sec.
Arc power (MMA)
The arc power function is used for stabilising
the arc in electrode welding. This takes place by
increasing the welding current during short-circuits. The
extra current is disposed off, when there is no longer a
short-circuit. Arc-power can be set between 0 and 150 %.
