Installing drain line
The condensate outlet of the ED4100/50 is
equipped with a hose nozzle (Fig. 2, 2a).
- Secure the condensate drain line to the
nozzle at the condensate outlet.
- Check for leaks during initial operation.
Installing the electrical connection
Caution - danger of short-circuit!
The connections for the power
supply and alarm contact can be
easily confused. Pay attention to the
symbol marked under the connection
(Fig. 5 and 6)!
)
Protection class IP 65 can be achieved
only with all seals fitted.
- Release the screw with seal at the safety
connector and remove the connector with
seal.
- Connect the power cable to the safety
connector terminal (Fig. 7).
- Secure the seal (Fig. 17, 22) on the con-
nector.
- Fit the power connector on the correct
side of the drain (Fig. 5).
- Secure the connector to the drain with a
screw and seal (Fig. 17, Item 24, 25) (max.
1 Nm).
Installing alarm contact (optional)
The ED4100/50 is supplied with an alarm con-
tact (Fig. 6). The alarm is a floating contact. A
signal is sent via an alarm connector (Fig. 8)
to an external monitoring unit.
)
The alarm contact is closed during
normal operation and the LED is ON.
In the case of an alarm, the contact is
opened and the LED is OFF.
- The procedure to connect the alarm cable
to the safety connector (Fig. 8) is the same
as previously described.

Installing optional heater
Danger!
Hot surfaces!
The heater can heat up to a temperature
of 70 °C during the initial warm-up phase.
Touching hot surfaces can cause serious
burn injuries.
• Before carrying out any maintenance work,
disconnect the power supply to the heater
and wait until the surface has sufficiently
cooled down.
• Wear protective gloves.
Caution!
The voltage specified on the heater
must agree with the voltage specified
on the condensate drain!
The condensate drain can be operated at
ambient temperatures below freezing when
a heater is installed.
The heater has a controller which regulates a
constant temperature range of 30 °C above
ambient temperature.
Caution!
The heater must only be operated at
temperatures at or below freezing.
We recommend controlling the heater
with a room thermostat!
Carry out the following steps to install the
heater:
- Close the shut-off valve at the condensate
inlet and the vent line if necessary.
- Depressurise the condensate drain by
pressing and holding he TEST button until
all the condensate drains off and a flow
sound can no longer be heard.
- Release the screw plug at the lower con-
nection (Fig. 1, 1c) with a 10 mm Allen key.
- Fit seal on heating element.
- Screw in heater (Fig. 10) and tighten with a
32 mm open-ended spanner (max. 10 Nm).
