Observe the permitted roof load of the vehicle;
see the vehicle Owner's Manual.
When the basic carriers are mounted, the
panorama sliding sunroof cannot be opened. To
ventilate the vehicle interior, the panorama
sliding sunroof can still be raised at the rear. If
the panorama sliding sunroof comes into contact
with a basic carrier which has been approved by
Mercedes-Benz it will lower slightly but remain
raised at the rear.
For the mounting of equipment on the basic carriers
(e.g. roof box, ski holder), please observe the
respective installation instructions.
Take note of how the vehicle dimensions change
once the basic carriers are mounted.
For safety reasons and in order to save fuel, the basic
carriers should be removed from the vehicle when
not in use.
Do not use an automatic car wash when the basic
carriers are fitted to the vehicle.
Important:
Loads on the equipment mounted to the basic
carriers must not restrict the area in which the
sliding roof is raised at the rear. The sliding roof
could otherwise be damaged when being raised
at the rear.
Combinable accessories
Please take note of the length of a roof box being
mounted. Roof boxes that are too big may lead to
damage of the tailgate.
Mercedes-Benz recommends using the "400" roof
box from the Mercedes-Benz Accessories range.

Fitting
The fitting/removal is illustrated using the basic
carrier at the front by way of example.
Fitting/removal of the rear basic carrier is carried out
in the same way.
Fit the basic carriers with the help of a second
person.
