Important safety notes
G
PLEASE NOTE
Each step of the installation instructions, as well
as the warnings, general safety information and
notes provided, must be followed exactly. If the
basic carriers are not correctly mounted, they may
come loose from your vehicle together with their
load, resulting in injury to you and other persons
and/or damage to property, including your
vehicle.
G
PLEASE NOTE
The roof load presents a larger surface area
exposed to the wind and also leads to an increase
in the vehicle's centre of gravity and thus a
change in driving characteristics. For example,
75 kg
the additional weight on the roof of the vehicle
may impair braking performance, cornering ability
and the acceleration characteristics of the
vehicle.
Always adapt your driving style to the current
road, traffic and weather conditions, and exercise
particular caution when travelling with a load on
the roof.
Take extra precautions even when driving with
unladen basic carriers fitted to the vehicle.
Do not exceed the maximum roof load or the
maximum permitted overall weight of the vehicle.
This also applies when equipment is fitted to the
basic carriers (e.g. roof box, ski holder).
Otherwise, the basic carriers, equipment
mounted to the basic carriers and/or loads may
come loose from the vehicle, resulting in injury to
you or other persons and/or damage to property,
including your vehicle.
