Fitting the rear basic carrier

7. Fit rear basic carrier (2) at a distance of (Y) in the
same way as for front basic carrier (1).
Distance (Y):
750 mm

PLEASE NOTE
Check that the basic carriers are securely
attached before every journey and also during
longer journeys. Retighten the quick-tightening
device if necessary. Repeat these checks at
regular intervals, regardless of road surface
conditions and at the latest after 2,500 km of
continuous use.
Important:
When equipment is fitted to the basic carriers
(e.g. roof box, ski holder), depending on the
vehicle equipment, make sure that:
•
the panorama sliding sunroof can be fully
raised at the rear
•
the tailgate can be fully opened.

Fitting equipment to the basic carriers
1. Unlock protective caps (7) on both sides with
key (3) and fold down.
2. Pull out cover profiles (4), if present.
Important:
Do not subject covers which have been folded
down to any loads. This may damage the covers
or cause them to break.
3. Push the equipment bracket into slot (11).
Further information can be found in the installation
instructions of the respective equipment to be fitted
to the basic carriers.
Fitting the cover profile
If no equipment is fitted to the basic carriers, cover
profiles (4) should be mounted in order to reduce
wind noise.
1. Place cover profile (4) on the basic carrier and
push into slot (11).
