Operating the mySPIN 6 in a Lab

1. Remove the contents from the package, examining them carefully for
breakage, defects, or missing parts. Save the packaging.
The unit shall be discarded if the locks or housing are broken or

cracked. Follow your facility or region policies for the disposal of biological
hazardous materials.
2. Place the mySPIN 6 on a sturdy, level surface away from the edge of the
counter and other moving equipment. Make sure the power cord is clear of
hot surfaces and other hazards.

3. Prior to every use, inspect unit for cracks, missing pieces, and/or any
damage that would result in an impaired performance and notify Thermo
Fisher Scientific BEFORE use.
4. Verify that the power switch is in the OFF position. Plug the power adapter
cord into the rear of the unit and the power cord into an approved outlet.
Make sure that the power cord connector can be readily grasped at the rear
of the device so that it can be removed to easily disconnect it from the
centrifuge.
5. Turn power switch ON. If there is a smooth whirring sound and the unit
accelerates with little or no vibration, mySPIN 6 is ready to use. If there are
loud or unusual sounds, or excessive vibration, DO NOT OPERATE.

6. On benchtop prepare samples tubes in rack so that tubes are filled to equal
levels. Close tube lids.
7. To open lid, firmly tilt lid toward rear of unit.
