4.3 RESIDUAL RISKS OF THE PRODUCT
The residual risk of the product is the possibility of coming into contact
(even if not accidentally) with the motor's cooling fan by inserting thin
objects (e.g. screwdrivers, sticks and similar) through the fan cover holes.

5. HANDLING AND STORAGE

5.1 HANDLING
Apply established accident prevention
regulations. The product may be heavy; use proper
lifting equipment and work apparel.
Handling and transportation of the motor must be done using adequate
means and precautions to prevent tipping or tilting of the product itself.
For motors with power ratings ≥ 5.5 kW, use lifting eyebolts, designed
for the weight of the motor only.
Do not add load the motor.
5.2 STORAGE
a) The product must be stored in a covered and dry place, far away
from heat sources and protected against dirt and vibrations.
b) Protect the product against damp conditions, heat sources and
mechanical damage.
c) Do not place heavy objects on the packaging.
d) The product must be stored at an ambient temperature between
+10°C and +40°C (50°F and 104°F) with a relative humidity of 50%.
e) An excessive period of storage may cause defects in the bearings
due to the static load.

6. TECHNICAL-PRODUCTION CHARACTERISTICS

6.1. APPLICATION
Low-voltage machines must be used for industrial installations, in
accordance with the standards harmonization DIN VDE0530/EN60034.
Pay attention to any special instructions on their use. These motors, are
designed to operate in ambient temperatures between - 20 °C and + 40
°C at a maximum altitude ≤ 1000 m above sea level. Use corrective
factors for different temperature/altitude ranges.
The conditions of use must comply with the details on the nameplate.
6.2. DESCRIPTION

Improper use of the motor is hazardous and can

ETM motors are low-voltage motors squirrel cage type asynchronous
three-phase powered by alternating current, externally ventilated and
with IP55 protection in compliance with EN 60034.
The low-voltage motors are components of machinery as specified in
the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
It prohibited the operation of a machine composed of a low voltage
motor if the final product does not conform to the EN 60204-1.
6.3. VENTILATION
Ducts should be cleaned regularly, according
also to the environmental conditions.
The cooling air flows from the rear side toward the front of the motor.
The distance between the opening of the air intake of the cooling fan
and the wall or another machine, must not be less than 100 mm.
The air coming out of the motor must not be sucked in again by the fan.
The air intakes and outlets must be kept clean for proper cooling of the
motor.
