Manual drive stacker EHH PS
English
6.6 Charging the battery
Smoking and the use of naked flames are prohibited when filling the tank and
checking the fuel level.
We recommend that the battery is charged after each shift.
The vehicle and charging appliance must be switched off before the plug is
removed from the socket outlet. When charging, the surface of the battery cells
must be exposed so as to provide sufficient ventilation. No metallic objects may
be placed on the batteries.
Return the key switch to position "off".
Connect the battery charger to a 230 V mains supply
and to the battery using a suitable battery
charge cable. The charging sequence starts
automatically.
When the battery is fully charged the battery charger
disconnects the current supply automatically.
Please refer to the separate battery charger
operating instructions. Remove the charge cable.
During charging adhere to the battery manufacturer's
recommendations.
Check weekly the level of the battery electrolyte in
the individual battery cells.
The electrolyte level must be 10 to 15 mm above the
cell plates and is to be replenished with distilled
water as required.
When batteries are exchanged do not interchange the battery poles to prevent damage
to the electric circuits.
6.7 Operation in Winter Time or at low Temperatures
To avoid excessive cooling of the battery and the hydraulic system, the Manual drive stacker with electric
travel shall not be unnecessarily exposed to cold areas.
The storage area should have normal temperatures not below + 15°C.
Charging of the batteries below +15°C will take longer and is not economical.

Temperature of the electrolyte
Batteries should be recharged daily or more often, although consumption has been less than 80% of the
capacity.
The electrolyte of a battery discharged by 80% (acidity 1,13 kg/l) will already freeze at -12° C.
Heavy discharged batteries are subject to freezing at temperatures just under 0°C.
The electrolyte of a newly charged battery (acidity 1,28 kg/l) will freeze only at approx. - 68°C.
The cooling period of a newly charged battery may last up to 12 hours depending on temperatures.
Before taking the stacker into operation and in order to warm up the oil, the lifting system should be
operated in unloaded state several times prior to leaving the temperature storage area.
For permanent operation at winter temperatures we recommend the use of multigrade lubricants for the
hydraulic system and the wheel hub gear.
Please contact our Technical Department for questions concerning application and type of lubricant.

Design changes under reserve
F 08.01.154
At low temperatures the battery capacity is
quickly reduced (reference values see
diagram), that means the operating time is
reduced with descending temperatures.
