Instructions
• Before opening the equipment, disconnect the instrument from any source of
electricity supply and ensure that you are free from static electricity, as this could
destroy the internal components.
• Any adjustment or repair or maintenance work on the ammeter clamp must only
be carried out by a qualified person, always taking into account the instructions
included in this manual.
• A "qualified person" means somebody familiar with the installation, construction
and operation of the equipment, with the risks implied. This person should be
trained and authorised to charge and discharge energy from the circuits and the
equipment in accordance with established practice.
• When the equipment is open, remember that some internal components can
retain dangerous power, even after the equipment has been disconnected from
the mains electricity supply.
• In the event of abnormal failures or performance, stop the equipment and make
sure that it is not used until it has been serviced.
• If the clamp is not going to be used for a long period of time, remove the battery
and do not store the clamp in a high temperature or humid environment.
WARNING
This equipment is designed according to EMC standards for portable measuring and
test instruments. Anyway, it is recommended to disconnect the test leads during current
measurements, as a high radiation radiofrequency electromagnetic field might be
present, which can negatively affect the accuracy of the measurement.
Initial considerations
Before starting to carry out measurements with the equipment, please make sure that
the grid frequency is correctly selected. The equipment can make measurements for 50
Hz and 60 Hz grid frequencies. To select said frequency open the battery cover, remove
the batteries and select the correct frequency using the switch. The selected grid
frequency is shown on the right edge of the screen.
