• Screw the bench drill to a rigid, level
work surface by its base plate (C).
• Locate worktable (B) on column, push
it down as far as it will go and lock
with locking screw (5).
• Locate motor/transmission
block (F) on column and secure
it with screws (G).
• Attach handles on spindle guide (4).
• Mount chuck (8) very tightly on
spindle taper.
Mounting the chip guard
Open the chip guard intake and insert
chip guard (7) into the slot. Screw the
chip guard together in 3 places.
Fold down the chip guard and loosen
both wing nuts. Adjust the chip guard to
match the drill length and tighten the
wing nuts.
Setting the Speed
• Switch off drill and pull out plug.
• Only open the gear cover after the
drive has come to a standstill.
• Loosen screw (2) and open the gear
cover (10).
• Loosen tightening screw (5) and
swing motor block towards spindle
guide. V-belt will go slack.
• Lay V-belt around appropriate
pulley wheels to set correct speed
(Fig. 6) for drill bit size and material
to be drilled (Fig. 5). Caution!
The V-belt must always run
horizontally.

• Tension V-belt by pushing motor
block away from spindle guide until
V-belt bends only about 1 cm when
pressed.
• Retighten tightening screw (3).
• Fold back the gear cover and tighten
the screw (2).
Adjusting the Worktable
• Loosen locking screw (5), slide
worktable along column to required
height and retighten locking screw.
• For angled drilling, loosen locking
screw (6), set worktable at required
angle on angle scale and retighten
locking screw.
• Position worktable so as to leave
enough room between workpiece and
drill tool for drill to start freely.
Setting the Drilling Depth
• The drill-hole depth gauge (11)
enables precise, constant setting
to the required drilling depth.
• After determining the drill depth
based on the scale in the motor/drive
block, set these using the adjusting
nuts (12).
To do so, tighten both adjusting nuts as
far as they will go and counter it with
the second nut (12). (Figure. 4)
Changing drill bit
Unplug bench drill before
changing drill bit!
Fold the chip guard (7) up. Release the
holding clamps of the chuck (8) using
