Preparations for adjusting the outer end position
1. Remove the protective cap aF from the DRD−/DRE− −O− .
2. Pressurise the DRD−/DRE− −O− briefly at connection 2 (A).
The pistons move into the outer end position.

Fig. 6
Setting the outer end position
1. Exhaust the DRD−/DRE− −O− .
2. Loosen the lock nut aE from the setting screw aD using a hexagon socket
wrench.
3. Use a hexagon socket wrench to turn the adjusting screw aD in order to modify
the outer end position
in a clockwise direction for reducing the end position setting
in an anti−clockwise direction for extending the end position setting
until the connected semi−rotary valve assumes the desired position.
4. Tighten again the lock nut aE on the adjusting screw.
When doing this, make sure that the adjusting screw does not turn.
After extending the outer end position
5. Pressurise the DRD−/DRE− −O− again briefly at connection 2 (A).
The pistons move into the extended outer end position.
6. Exhaust the DRD−/DRE− −O− and repeat steps 2 to 4.
Concluding the end position setting
1. Replace the protective caps aA and aF again.
2. Pressurise the DRD−/DRE− −O− alternately at connections 2 (A) and 4 (B).
When doing this, check that the connected semi−rotary valve assumes the
desired end positions.

Dismantling and repairs

If used as designated in the operating instructions, the device will be free of
maintenance.
9
Care and maintenance
Warning
Danger of injury from uncontrolled movements
· Switch the tubing system pressureless before dismantling.
Please note
When the connection screws are loosened, the DRD/DRE may switch in an un
controlled manner.
· Exhaust the DRD/DRE before starting any dismantling work.
1. If necessary, remove any existing limit switches.
2. Remove the solenoid valve.
3. Loosen the screws on the flange of the semi−rotary valve.
4. Remove the semi−rotary drive (if necessary together with the mounting bridge
and coupling) from the semi−rotary valve.
5. Send the device to Festo for repairs.

The response times are average values for a switching operation under idling conditions.
1) The response times apply to semi−rotary drives with 10 return springs at 6 bar
2) The response times for this semi−rotary drive apply to a device with 15 return springs at 6 bar rated
