ÖWWG 3
The ÖWWG 3 oil/ water alarm unit may only be used to signal accu-
mulations of liquids and only to monitor:
•
Collection facilities under storage tanks, burners or motors
•
Tanks with collection facilities which are not visible
•
Collection facilities for devices consuming oil or water
•
Rooms for early indication of water leaks
•
Manholes, pipe and cable ducts (frost-free)
•
Pump and control stations which are subject to leaks, backflow
or flooding
•
Storage and transport of liquids
The ÖWWG 3 oil/water alarm unit may only be used for the following
liquids at atmospheric pressure and up to a maximum of 45 °C:
•
Water,
•
Fuel oil EL, L or M,
•
Diesel fuel (DIN EN 590) and low-viscosity with flash point
> 55 °C,
Unused and used motor oils (for example, SAE 15W-40), gear-
box oils and hydraulic oils, transformer oils, vegetable oils
•
Antifreeze agents,
•
Oil/water mixtures, emulsions,
ÖWWG 3 is suitable for liquids (flash point > 55 °C) with equivalent
heat conductivity if these liquids are compatible with the following
wetted parts:
•
Wired PTC thermistor (glass + silver wire)
•
Plastic: PA6 (Furkamid B SK 1)
•
Cable: Ölflex 100, resistant to acids, lye and oils
Leak detection system class III as per DIN EN 13160-1 and
DIN EN 13160-4 as liquid sensor system in leak or interstitial spaces,
as safety device as per worksheet DWA-A 791 and leak detection
system as per worksheet DWA-A 779.
Any use other than the application explicitly permitted in these oper-
ating instructions is not permitted and causes hazards.
The ÖWWG 3 oil/water alarm unit must never be used in the follow-
ing cases:
