PLEASE NOTE!
Prior to installation and start-up of the unit, please read
these instructions carefully!
As with all technical devices, the proper function and
safe operation of this unit depend on the user's
compliance with the standard safety procedures as well
Page
as the specific safety recommendations presented in
1
these Operating Instructions.
2
1. Use of the device is restricted to trained personnel in
accordance with the instructions below. The manu-
2
facturer assumes no liability for any damage resulting
3
from the use of this unit for any other purpose.
3
2. Prior to start-up of the unit make sure that the
3
operating voltage stated on the rating plate is
3
compatible with the available mains voltage. Operation
4
of the unit at a different voltage may damage the unit.
4
3. Position the unit so that the power plug is accessible
4
at all times. The power plug is used to turn the charger
4
on and off. To disconnect the charger from the mains,
4
remove the power plug from the electrical outlet.
4
4. Use only the 3M ESPE charger which is provided with
4
the unit. The use of any other charger can result in
4
damage to the battery.
5
5
5. CAUTION! Do not stare at source. May be harmful to
5
the eyes. Exposure must be restricted to the area of
the oral cavity in which clinical treatment is intended.
5
Protect patient and user from reflection and intensive
5
scattered light by taking the appropriate measures,
6
6
e.g., glare shield or coverings.
6. CAUTION! The Elipar S10 unit generates high intensity
6
light. High light intensity always involves the produc -
6
tion of heat. The light emitted should be aimed directly
6
above the material to be cured - exposure of the soft
7
tissues (gingiva, oral mucosa, and skin) to high-inten-
7
sity light should be avoided as such exposure may
cause damage or irritation. If applicable, cover such
8
areas. If exposure of soft tissues cannot be avoided,
8
adjust the polymerization process to the light level,
8
e.g., by shortening the polymerization times or
8
9
increasing the distance between the light guide exit
and the material to be cured. Longer exposure in the
9
region of the pulp can lead to injury or irritation of the
pulp, which is why the specified exposure times must
not be exceeded.
9
9
7. Elipar S10 may be operated only with the supplied
9
light guide or original 3M ESPE Elipar S10 replace-
10
ment light guide. The light guide has to be seen as
an applied part. The use of other light guides may
10
result in a reduction or increase in the light intensity.
10
The product's warranty does not cover any damage
10
resulting from the use of third-party light guides.
