Troubleshooting

If the device is not working properly, please check fi rst of all whether you are able to rectify a
problem yourself. If you are not, contact the customer service department. Do not try to repair
a faulty device yourself!
Problem
The device does not

cooked evenly.

completely cooked.
The food is slightly
burnt.
Development of odours
and smoke
Possible cause / solution
• Have you set the temperature and time controllers?
• Is the mains plug correctly inserted into the socket?
• Is the plug socket defective? Try another mains socket.
• Check the fuse of your mains connection.
• Have you set the heating temperature to at least level 1?
• The insert is overfi lled. The grill plate cannot rotate. Reduce the
quantity of food.
• The temperature chosen is too low, turn it up to a higher set-
ting.
• The preparation time is too short, adjust the cooking time.
• The grill plate is overfi lled. Reduce the quantity of food.
• The temperature chosen is too high, turn it to a lower setting.
• The preparation time is too long, adjust the cooking time.
• When the device is fi rst used: Any coating residues that may
remain may result in a small amount of odour and smoke devel-
opment. This is nothing unusual and does not impair the safety
of the device. Allow the device to heat up empty for about 10
minutes (see the "Before Initial Use" chapter).
• The device has already been used: Are the grill plates dirty? Fol-
low the instructions in the "Cleaning" chapter.
