❐ CAUTION! Hot steam escapes from the ventilation slots during use. Make sure that you
do not come into contact with the steam. Be careful when opening the lid as hot air or hot
steam may escape from the device.

Danger of Fire

❐ Do not use the device if highly fl ammable gases are present in the air.
❐ Make sure that foodstuffs containing oil and fats are not overheated so that they do not
catch fi re.
❐ Do not cover the device during operation in order to prevent it from catching fi re.
❐ Make sure that the heating element does not come into contact with any other objects.
❐ Do not place any combustible materials (e.g. cardboard, plastic, paper or candles) on, in or
under the device.
❐ The device should never be set up or used in the vicinity of easily fl ammable materials (cur-
tains, textiles, etc.).
❐ In the event of a fi re: It is essential to remove the mains plug immediately. Do not remove
the lid. Cover the device with a fi reproof blanket or wet cloths. Do not use the device any
more and dispose of it.

For Your Health

❐ The device may contain production residues. To prevent any health hazards, clean the device
and all accessories thoroughly before initial use and heat the device up for 10 minutes with-
out any food in it (see the "Before Initial Use" chapter). However, do not leave the device
switched on for longer than 10 minutes without any contents. During this time, make sure
the room is well ventilated, e.g. with wide-open windows!
❐ Clean the device after each use to prevent germ formation (see the "Cleaning" chapter) and
keep it clean.
❐ Do not use spoilt food. Never keep food longer than the best-before date.

Correct Set-Up and Connection

❐ Use the device only in closed rooms.
❐ Always set up the device with a clear space on all sides and clear space above it on a dry, fl at,
solid and heat-resistant surface.
❐ Maintain suffi cient clearance from other sources of heat such as hotplates or stoves in order
to avoid damage to the device.
❐ In order to prevent electric shocks, place the device in a location in which the basic device,
the mains cable and the plug cannot come into contact with water or other liquids.
❐ Never operate the device on a hob or in the vicinity of a gas source.
❐ The device should only be connected to a properly installed plug socket with safety contacts.
The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must
match the technical data of the device. Only use suitable extension cables whose technical
data is the same as that of the device.
