12. Disposal
a) General
The product must not enter the household waste!
Dispose of the useless product according to the applicable statutory rules.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end consumer, you are required to return all used batteries and rechargeable batteries by law (bat-
tery regulation). Disposal in the household waste is forbidden.
Hazardous-substance-containing batteries are marked with the adjacent symbol that indicates
the prohibition of disposal via the household waste. The designations for the relevant heavy
metal are Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury , Pb = lead.
Flat batteries, rechargeable batteries and button cells can be returned free of charge to the collection
points of your municipalities, our branches or anywhere where batteries/rechargeable batteries/button
cells are sold.
You thus meet the statutory obligations and make your contribution to environmental protection.
13. Maintenance and cleaning
a) Maintenance
Check the technical safety of your alarm system regularly, e.g. for damage to the connection cables or to
the housing.
If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the system must be turned off and pre-
cautions are to be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally. Remove the telephone line from the
socket, the mains supply unit from the plug and disconnect the battery!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
• the system, power supply unit or the connection cables are visibly damaged
• the system or power unit no longer works
• the device has been stored under unfavourable conditions for a longer period of time
• the device has been subjected to heavy transport strain.
