11.11 Remote control and status check by telephone
You can use a dual tone multifrequency telephone to check the alarm control centre status and to carry
out certain commands. You must set the number of rings until the alarm control centre answers the call
(see chapter 10.21).
Call the telephone number to which the alarm control centre is connected.
After the set number of ring tones, the alarm control centre answers your call.
The alarm control centre only answers the call if the ring tone is a single long tone. This is the
case if you have a direct telephone line connection.
If you operate the alarm control centre on an auxiliary line it is possible that the ring tone will be
different, e.g. two short signals. Most telephone systems allow this to be adjusted.
Refer to the operating instructions for your telephone and change the ring tone appropriately.
Once the alarm control centre has answered the call, it reports the current status by signal tones.
The meaning of the signal tones is listed in the following table:
Signal tones
Meaning
1
Alarm control centre is disarmed
2
Alarm control centre is armed
1 + 3
Alarm control centre is disarmed
but a 24 hour loop has been triggered.
2 + 3
Alarm control centre is armed
and an alarm has been sounded
1 + 2
Alarm control centre is disarmed
but a loop has been triggered.
5
False code entry
2 + 5
The code entered is correct but the command cannot be carried out.
E.g. the alarm control centre is disarmed, there is a current alarm and you want to arm
the alarm control centre.
If you only want to check the status of the alarm control centre without making any changes, simply hang
up after you hear the signal tones.
Any status changes can only be made using user code 1.
After a successful status adjustment the connection with the alarm control centre is ended.
Thus, you can only make one change per call.
If the alarm control centre confirms an incorrect entry (5 signal tones) you can still make the
correct entry without losing the connection. After four incorrect entries the alarm control centre
ends the connection.
