9.4 Checkingandreplacingthefuse
The condition of the fuse can be checked as follows:
- S elect the low resistance measuring function " 200 mA" with the rotary
switch .
- C onnect the black safety measuring cable to the negative socket (-) of the
B ENNING IT 100.
- C onnect the red safety measuring cable to the positive socket (+) of the
B ENNING IT 100.
- B ring the test prods of the measuring cables into contact with each other
and press the
- T he fuse is intact if the measurement reading in the display is about 0.05 .
The fuse is defective and must be replaced if the measurement reading
"> 20 " appears in the display .

The BENNING IT 100 is protected against overload by an internal fuse (G
cartridge fuse link) with the ratings 0.5 A, 1000 V AC/ DC, 10 kA, quick blow,
D = 6.3 mm, L = 32 mm.

D isconnect the safety measuring cables from the measuring circuit.
- Disconnect the safety measuring cables from the BENNING IT 100.
- Turn the rotary switch to the switch setting "0".
- The fuse is in a separate compartment above the battery compartment.
- N o further screws need to be released on the BENNING IT 100 for replac-
ing the fuse.
- L ift one end of the defective fuse out of the fuse holder with the help of a
slot screwdriver.
- L ift the defective fuse completely out of the fuse holder.
- I nsert a new fuse which has the same current rating, the same voltage
rating the same disconnecting rating, the same disconnecting characteristic
and the same dimensions.
- M ake sure that the new fuse is seated centred in the holder.
- P lace the battery compartment cover on the bottom section and tighten the
screws.

9.5 C alibration
To maintain the specified accuracy of the measurement results, the instrument
must be recalibrated at regular intervals by our factory service. We recom-
mend a recalibration interval of one year. Send the appliance to the following
