6 Commissioning

After installation, the ComfoAir must be set up. This
is done in various menus that can be accessed via
the display or control programme (ComfoAir XL
Control Center).
In order to facilitate installation of the ComfoAir,
some default factory settings are included.
When opting for a general reset, these
factory settings will be deleted (as well).
Each cabinet contains a parameter list detailing the
factory settings of that specific cabinet. Alternatively,
ask for a digital file with the factory settings from
Zehnder. This digital file can be loaded using the
special control software in the ComfoAir.
The software manual describes how to programme
the ComfoAir.
After fitting and programming, a number of checks
must be carried out. At the back of this manual is
an installation report stating the points requiring
checks.

7 Maintenance

Failure to carry out (periodic) maintenance
on the ComfoAir ultimately compromises the
performance of the system.
To ensure a hassle-free lifespan for your ComfoAir,
we recommend you take out a service agreement
with an expert company.
The following maintenance must be carried out:
■ Replacing the filter;
■ Inspecting and (where necessary) cleaning the
internal siphon;
■ Inspecting and (where necessary) cleaning the air
ducts;
■ Inspecting and (where necessary) cleaning the
ComfoAir casing;
■ Inspecting and (where necessary) cleaning the
plate exchanger;
■ Inspecting and (where necessary) cleaning the
fans;
■ Inspecting and (where necessary) cleaning the
battery or batteries.
A concise explanation of these maintenance
activities is given in the paragraphs below.
Ensure the ComfoAir has been isolated
from mains power before carrying out any
maintenance work.
For safety's sake, the hinges/clamps can also be
locked using the locking screw or lock in the hinge/
clamp. The hinges/clamps are unlocked by rotating
the locking screw 90 o in the direction of the arrow on
the hinge/clamp. Do not forget to relock the hinges/
clamps after maintenance by turning locking screw
back 90º.
The fans carry on rotating for a while after
being switched off.
A maintenance log has been included at the
rear of this manual which can be used to
note all performed maintenance.
We recommend cleaning the system (filters,
valves and grilles) after construction work,
as the system may become clogged with
construction dust.
