8.2 External sensors
The connection of a wired external sensor, ta-
kes place on the RS 485 interface of the RLS
45 O/K control (max. 3 sensors per control).
Demand-driven operation (sensor-controlled
automatic operation) only applies to ventila-
tion units, which are connected to the same
room air control as the sensors.
External sensors which can be connected
● PP 45 HY humidity sensor module
● PP 45 CO
sensor module
2
● PP45 VOC, VOC sensor module
Connecting sensors
1. Switch off mains fuse, secure against
being accidentally switched back on and
position a visible warning sign.
2. Install and wire external sensor Final
assembly kit instructions.
3. With external sensors, addressing is
undertaken using the rotary switch on the
sensor housing:
Position 0 = sensor 1, position 1 = sensor
2, position 2 = sensor 3
The sensors (external and internal) are
only learned-in on the master.
4. Take room air control out of recessed-
mounted box and wire sensor connecting
cable to plug-in connection terminal of
RS 485 interface Wiring diagrams in
appendix.

5. Insert room air control in the recessed-
mounted box and screw down to recessed-
mounted box with 2 screws.
6. Fit front panel. Make sure it locks into
position. With front covers, ensure that
sensor opening (hole in front panel) is
above the sensor.
7. Switch on mains fuse and remove warning
sign.
8. Start up ventilation system chapter 9.
9. Activating sensor: in service mode (
Final assembly kit instructions) or with the
commissioning software ( chapter 14.6).
8.3 Additional room air controls (parallel
operation)
The connection of additional room air controls
takes place on the RS 485 interface of the
RLS 45 O/K control Final assembly kit in-
structions or with the commissioning software
( chapter 14.6).
Up to 3 additional, wired controls can be
added to a PP 45/PPB 30 system.
The set operating mode, ventilation level and
the additional External OFF function (if set
up) apply to all ventilation units.
The other additional functions (sleep mode,
intermittent ventilation, supply air operation)
are only relevant to units connected to the
room air control.
If a room air control is being used as a slave,
addressing as slave 1, 2 or 3 (depending on
number of slaves) must be selected in the
control's service menu.
For commissioning chapter 9, for parame-
ters chapter 14.
