8 System expansions –
Connection of further components
Standard installations are described in
the PP 45 assembly instructions or in the
PPB 30 Final assembly kit. These must
be read before you proceed with further
connections.

8.1 Safety instructions 230 V connection

PP 45 RC ventilation units and RLS 45 O /
RLS 45 K controls are supplied with 230 V
mains voltage. Note the following safety
instructions.
DANGER
!
Danger of electric shock.
Before installing the electrics, shut down all
supply circuits, switch off mains fuse, secure
against being accidentally switched back on
and position a visible warning sign.
During operation, the board cover and
front cover of the internal housing must be
mounted.
WARNING
!
Danger of burns/fire due to overload
caused by incorrect connection or con-
necting too many units to an RLS 45 O/K.
Connect units in accordance with connection
diagram. Observe permissible number of
ventilation units per room air control/power
unit.
WARNING
!
Danger of electric shock if the 12V low
voltage and 230 V are not disconnected
or are insufficiently disconnected. Ensure
a safety distance between 230 V and SELV.
Ensure minimum distance of 8 mm.

Danger of electric shock if the 230 V input
of the PP 45 RC, PPB 30 RC and the RLS
45 O/K controller is incorrectly connected.
Ensure a phase balance between all compo-
nents connected to the ventilation system.
WARNING
Danger of electric shock if the RLS 45 O/K
room air control is installed within the
protection zone. No IP protection present
(IP 00). The room air control may only be
installed outside protective zones 0, 1 or 2.
WARNING
!
Danger of electric shock if the ventilation
units are installed within the protection
zone.
The units may only be installed in the spec-
ified protection zones in accordance with
the IP degree of protection. Only use PP 45
outside protection zones 0, 1 and 2. Only
use PPB 30 O/K outside of protection zone
0. Only use PPB 30 RC outside of protection
zones 0 and 1.
When wiring several unit pairs/ven-

tilation units, always use a deep/
double recessed-mounted box
(recessed-mounted box provided by
customer).
Strip wires of connection cables suffi-

ciently.
