4 Operation

4.1 Preparing the burette

a.
Check whether the stopcocks are easy to turn.
b.
Lightly grease the ground joint connection to the supply bottle with
stopcock grease, or use a PTFE ground joint sleeve.

4.2 Filling the burette

Media leakage
In general, do not fill while the intermediate stopcock is open.
If overfilled, media will escape through the overflow at the top
of the burette.
a.
Place the burette onto the filled supply bottle.
b.
Connect the rubber blowball to the side tubing connector.
c.
Close the intermediate stopcock (model with intermediate stopcock).
d.
Hold the vent closed with a finger. Squeeze the blowball to fill the bu-
rette.
e.
When the liquid level is approx. 5 mm above the zero mark, lift your
finger off the vent.
ð This ends the process.
ð The burette will automatically set to zero.

4.3 Deaerating the burette

a.
To remove trapped air, briefly open and close the burette stopcock.
