6 Operation

6.1 Dispensing

1. Selecting the volume
+
Digital: Rotate the volume-setting
wheel until the desired volume is indi-
cated (mechanical counter).
2. Dispensing
Follow during every use, especially with hazardous media
> Wear protective clothing, eye protection and appropriate hand protection!
> Never press down the piston when the screw cap is screwed on!
> Avoid splashing the reagent!
> To avoid splashes dispense slowly.
> Liquid may accumulate in the screw cap. Open the screw cap slowly in order to pre-
vent splashing.
> Follow all safety instructions and comply with the operating exclusions and limita-
tions of use; see Limitations of use, p. 41 and Operating exclusions, p. 41.

Analog: Loosen the volume selector
thumb screw ¾ turn (1), set the pointer
to the desired volume (2) and then
retighten the volume thumb screw (3).
WARNING
a.
Unscrew the screw cap of the dispensing tube.
b.
When using instruments equipped with a recirculation
valve, turn the valve to 'Dispensing'.
c.
Hold the discharge tube orifice on the inner wall of a suit-
able receiving vessel.
d.
Gently lift the piston until the upper stop and then de-
press piston slowly and steadily with minimal force until
the lower stop.
e.
Wipe off the discharge tube against the inner wall of the
receiving vessel.
f.
Seal the dispensing tube with the screw cap.
6 Operation
Fixed: The volume
is non-adjustable
and cannot be
changed.
